Plot Summary:Lafcadio HEARN visited Japan as a newspaper reporter in 1890. Within the same year, he found a job as an English language teacher at a local town, Matsue. Having experienced many things in the traditional Japanese society, which impressed and attracted him so much, he got married with Fumi, a woman of a poor former samurai class family. With her help, he collects many folklore later fruited in his piece known as \"Kwaidan\". But harsh and rapid changes of the society deprived the magic of his beloved Japanese life, would have made his late years alienated again even surrounded by his family.
