I maybe went through the album an hour ago,before i actually watched this documentary.By then i didn’t like Carolina,Only Angel and Woman,especially Carolina,but i totally love them all right now,literally O M G !
I think it’s kinda weird that some random day you dig up an album you have listened before, which you found nothing impressive by then, and now you are just loving it so sooooo much. And this is excatly how i feel about this album Harry Styles at this exact moment.
It’s kinda cool that you feel the connection from the music,it’s stupid but it seems like that the singer is telling you something, some bits are even too private to share, but you get it,you understand what he’s trying to tell and you feel the same at some exact moments, the sparkle ignite at some points, the vibe is so inspirational and emotional and it all feels great.
The first two words pop out of head is vintage and polished after i went through the whole album,it’s so fresh, different and so unique, what can i say,i just like it so much. It’s not to say that pop is bad,but the stereotype is that pop songs are catchy yet cliche. But it’s different in this album.Well it’s not just pop let’s say, there’s a bit of folk, country(Two Ghosts seems a bit Lady Antebellum to me)and rock,he mixed it all with pop(hahahhh maybe that’s the so-called Brit-pop?).And maybe that’s what makes it so various from others. The pop part gets people to listen to it,and yet the other parts make people like this one better than the everyone’s pop.
Well, about the band,i think Harry is the one who makes the greatest success after the disband.I think he’s got a point there ,in the documentary, saying that the band succeeded so well in the very first place, but there’s this limit of the height they can reach. Then there’s just pressure, pressure is a good thing, but still it's pressure. He can never get rid of the tag, when people think about Harry Styles, they will link him to One Direction, but that's not all about the bad impact, the band maked him who he is today, without the band, maybe there’s no Harry Styles as a well-known singer. When it comes to One Direction, there’s nothing to complain about, but it’s a fresh start to be Harry Styles as a solo singer. The boys can’t always be the teenage icon, they age they grow and they get old, there’s this transformation that has to be maked. The dissband is kinda sad at the first place, but they become more of themselves to be solo, try the music style that presents them and do the stuff they like yet don’t have to get tied up to the group. As to this album,i think the theme song Sign of the Times is a piece for Harry himself.Don’t cry baby,it’s the sign of the times.Go celebrate the brand new start and make good use of it.Just let the work do the talking, that's what singers are supposed to de.
I literally have a crush on this man,he’s a bit lunatic in the documentary, but somehow it seems cute to me.He’s not just a member of a teenage boy band, and he’s not just somebody’s ex,he’s himself. We are not up to judge before we get to know someone,it’s an irresponsible thing to do,to judge without even knowing.I think there’s this one difference between the singers in the west and in China, singers somewhere else they write their lyrics, compose their tune, and most of the time the whole stuff is DIY.You write something down because you’ve got something to say to the world,it’s a reflect of your inner self at some points, and of course you feel the whole feeling cause the song is the baby of yours. And i think that’s great, the singer is not pretending to be someone else or faking someone else’s feeling when he or she sings. That’s original and they are the songwriters.
At the end,Harry hugged his team, but it’s not the end. It’s been two years after the Harry Styles.Hoping that some good stuff is on the way.Just stick to yourself and be that talented and enthusiastic artist as always ,our Harry boy!!!
