It's a great film, very artistic, or maybe avant-garde, but I hate it. I almost slept twice during the screening. Basically the whole film is about two guys walking in a dessert, trying to find a way out, and a metaphor of a guy being trapped in his life journey, losing the direction. The cinematography is good, but the editing of the two people walking from a dessert to a grassland then to a mountain doesn't make sense geographically.
The ending was totally expected by myself after 30 minutes of the screening. The crying guy was gonna die here and the other guy would definitely find the way out. Then, the only suspense is how and when will the cissi guy die. To my surprise, his friend killed him after waking up.
The climax of the film was the shot of the crying man jumping off the huge rock. It looked very real, and I am wondering if there is any stunt of specail effect in it.
The long takes are so annoying in this film. I wish every take could be cut into half so that my mind and eyes won't be wandering aournd.
One man's mistake can be other men's art, especially a mistake of some big name director.
