it has been so long since i first saw this show. i remember the first time i saw this is in my junior high.. there is a magazine which mentions this is a new show about life of the youth of superman i didn't pay any particular interest in it since i was not into watching american shows at that time(smiling) The second time i saw this, which is also my most memorable time, is in my sophomore in high school. i remember that was a Saturday and me and my friends were just about to leave school about tutoring. we came across the corridor and saw some people watching some movie inside the classroom. out of curiosity, we went in there and see what they are watching. it turns out to be the episode with green arrow and flash ( should be the 6th season). i was amazed at how the special effect make the whole show so dynamic. i end up watching the whole episode and asked that guy what show is this. this is how i mircally met with this marvelous show and i have no idea this would be the show of my life
but actually after this, i kinda forgot about this show and didn't quite eager to find out more about this show. just when i'm almost forget the show completely, one day i was looking for some interesting movies to watch and i find a whole set sitting quietly in the corner. it says the name was "Smallville" and i suddenly remembered the show from school. i bought the whole set of dvd immediately and starts to watch that. this turns out to be the day I'm fully embraced by the power of smallville.
I watched 3 episodes in a row that day and feel like watching more. it is so interesting and touching that i never imagined any show can be like that. basically, it just a story about how superman is raised in a normal family and find out his true power through his parents, friends and enemies. but this is not true. the story is way more than that. every relationship, every background story is so twisted and complicated. you cannot tell someone's completely evil. every affected people has their own reason and faith. the young superman, clark, not only has to fight with people who is doing the wrong stuff, but also have to fight with his own emotional flaw.
the first season is mostly dealing with how meteor rock hits the small town and weird things start to happen. one of the most important thing the show is trying to convey is that once people get the power that they are not supposed to have, they fuck up. they will use that advantage and push the limit. every time i see a affected people
