I am back from the film Billy Elliot, and it seems like that my director(teacher) prefers this kind of film with the theme — to liberate ourselves, to pursue our dream, I mean, the real one form childhood. She attempts to let us access to the truth: there is much POSSIBILITY. The movie is really great, with instinct personalities shaping by the plots: the father’s hot-tempered but gentle in heart bottom which is the entity of Farther’s Love; the ballet abecedarian of Billy’s free-style but serious.
I am finding that the obstacles on the road to your dream is also helpful, because the obstacle will encourage people to insist on your talent and fight with more muscle. To forbid is to encourage.
Anyway, father’s awaking and selfless support is decisive in Billy’s career. To break the frame of gender is mainly focused topic with many other sociological meanings.…… To be free! To release! On Billy’s perfect entering on the stage, the peak of my crying is also coming, as well as the most powerful control by me. “Do you always pursue your dream form the childhood?” I interrogate myself. It is a desperate moment when one acclaims that “ I could have be a dancer”.
Which is my talent? Can I help me to realize some of my pursuits?
However when we are back to the earth, we have to recognize the fact, as my director mentions today, that Billy is minority after all, but the much larger parts of talent of us in under-developed. Just like the Obama’s victory in U.S.A presidential election tells that “black people can be the American president” in the dream-land and the great nation with great democracy system, but do not forget “NOT EVERY BLACK PEOPLE”.
To sum up, Billy’s story is contributive to widen our imagination and horizon in life career, to be powerful to explore the possibility of our life, to pursue what we really want.
