My first exposure to Wes Anderson and it is a pleasurable experience. One of the most important yet forgotten aspect of movie is the ability to truly immerse audience into the cinematic universe, and Anderson does a masterful job at this in Moonrise Kingdom. Although the story isn't the most jaw dropping nor creative, but it is certainly sincere. Viewers are taken into a world with relatable and loveable characters; the innocent youths of the film and the responsibility-laden adults. These adults try to perform their responsibility not knowing it is taking away love from the kids. In the end, it is an unlikely morale figure that stands up to the challenge and provides the kids with a chance to create their own "Kingdom"
